Senior BI Developer – Power BI & Modern Data Platforms
Own the BI layer. Influence commercial decisions. Build at scale.
We’re looking for a Senior BI Developer with deep expertise in the Power BI stack to design, build, and own business-critical intelligence solutions used across the organisation. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and commercial insight — with full accountability for how data is modelled, governed, and turned into trusted insight.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, marketing, product, and operations, ensuring analytics is not just accurate, but genuinely decision-driving.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
This is a hands-on, end-to-end BI role with real ownership.
-
Develop and deliver scalable Power BI solutions, including semantic models, reusable datasets, and performance-optimised dashboards
-
Design and optimise SQL-driven data models that support reporting, forecasting, and advanced analytics
-
Contribute to the evolution of a modern Microsoft data platform, including warehouse / lakehouse structures and ingestion pipelines
-
Build and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines using Power Automate, Fabric Data Factory, or equivalent tools
-
Own the entire BI lifecycle — from source system ingestion through modelling, visualisation, and business adoption
-
Partner with commercial teams to deliver insight into pricing, promotions, customer behaviour, and revenue performance
-
Define, standardise, and govern KPIs across sales, marketing, product, and customer functions
-
Drive automation and self-service analytics, reducing manual reporting through Power BI, Power Apps, and workflow automation
-
Uphold high standards of data quality, documentation, governance, and performance tuning
-
Lead stakeholder-facing data storytelling, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable outcomes
-
Support and mentor junior BI developers and analysts, embedding best practice across the BI function
What We’re Looking For
You’re technically confident, commercially aware, and comfortable owning solutions end to end.
Essential experience
-
5+ years’ experience in business intelligence or analytics, with demonstrable technical ownership
-
Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations and dimensional modelling
-
Deep hands-on expertise in Power BI — DAX, data modelling, optimisation, and deployment pipelines
-
Experience working with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, data warehouses, or lakehouse architectures
-
Proven delivery of ETL / ELT pipelines using Power Automate, Fabric Data Factory, or similar
-
Strong understanding of commercial and financial metrics (margin, revenue, ROI, P&L)
-
Confident communicator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
-
Strong focus on data accuracy, lineage, and governance
Desirable experience
-
Background in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing environments
-
Exposure to Power Apps for operational or data-driven solutions
-
Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, or promotional analysis
-
Experience in a transformation or high-growth environment
Working Pattern
-
Full-time, hybrid role
-
Regular on-site collaboration at a central UK office
If you want a role where Power BI is core, modern Microsoft tooling is embraced, and your work directly influences commercial outcomes — this is a chance to own it.
