Tristan has over 18 years of experience within the IT Recruitment industry. He survived a week-long coma when he was 23 and has never looked back since. Has two lovely boys who keep him on his toes, and you will often find him in the gym at 6 am ahead of a good day's work.

Biggest untapped opportunity in IT & Digital recruitment?

We’re currently exploring ways of integrating Data-Driven Analytics with our REC processes, and the opportunities for more accurate hiring are endless.

What is the most overused current industry buzzword?

IR35, but to be fair, for a good reason, as it needs to be navigated both professionally and ethically.

Nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?

Read about industry requirements surrounding all things contract as we as keeping up to date on the fastest ¼ mile times set but the latest crop of cars. 

What do your family think you do all day?

Go to the gym and make lots of phone calls, and have “nice” chats, according to my youngest son.

First act if you became Prime Minister?

Invest more money on free school meals provision even when term time has ended. 

Who has been your mentor in business?

Not had a “mentor” as such, but three people over the years have played their part in shaping me and my approach to recruitment. 

A day in your life? Typical day:

05:00 – Make breakfast for my wife and prepare milk and fruit for my sons ready for when they wake up. 

06:00– Gym 

08:00 – Arrive at work and make sure the day plan is on point, and make any important calls. 

08:30 - Start to execute the day plan

12:00 – LUNCH & life admin

13:00 – Read industry news.

13:30 – Continue with the day plan

17:00 – Catch up with anyone I have struggled to get hold of throughout the day and then leave.

18:30 - Witching hour at home, bathtime and then bedtime for the boys. 

20:00 - EAT, then sleep.
